Ways to help

Give, give things, give time, or open a door. All four keep a shelter running.

Ways of giving

One-time gift

A single gift of any size supports emergency shelter, crisis response, counseling and children's services. Every service Maxine's Arms provides is offered at no cost to survivors.

Monthly giving

Recurring gifts are what let a shelter answer the phone at 3 a.m. in February. Monthly donors give Maxine's Arms something rare in crisis work: a number it can count on.

In-kind donations

New, unopened essentials for residents arriving with nothing. See the current wish list before shopping — needs change, and storage is finite.

Corporate and workplace giving

Matching gift programs, workplace campaigns, sponsorships, and employee volunteer days. Ask us what would help most this quarter.

Event sponsorship

Sponsor an awareness event, a community training, or a seasonal drive, and put your name behind prevention work in Illinois.

Planned and legacy giving

Include Maxine's Arms in your will, trust, or beneficiary designations. Contact us and we will connect you with the right information for your advisor.

Organizations

Partner with us

One of our five program goals is to establish partnerships with community agencies, law enforcement, healthcare providers and social service organizations to strengthen coordinated support systems.

Another is to provide training opportunities for volunteers, staff, faith-based organizations and community partners on trauma-informed care and victim advocacy. If your organization wants that training, or wants to build a referral pathway with us, start with a message.

Every part of this work is held up by someone.

Survivors reaching out. Advocates answering. Neighbors giving. Partners opening doors. There is a place in it for you.
